What is French Life Really Like?

Many people dream of moving to France and living the dream.  Television programmes have popularised the idea of a place in the sun.  While the English climate and current economic difficulties have only served to increase the demand for a new way of life, it is important to realise there is a lot more to French Life than dreams and sunshine.  The language barrier can be a huge obstacle and this, together with the inability to integrate, are often cited as reasons why people return to the UK after a few years of the French Life.  Dealing with the French bureaucracy can be another daunting prospect for many people.  The message is clear, before taking the plunge into French Life, do your research and make every effort to learn the language.

Adirondack Mountains

The Adirondack Mountains are contained within 6.1 million acres of the Adirondack Park in upper state New York. Known for their 46 tallest peaks and for hosting the 1980 and 1932 Winter Olympics, the Adirondack Mountains also make a fantastic vacation destination. In the warmer months, hiking, biking, mountain climbing, rafting, tubing, golfing and many other fun activities make a great way to spend a vacation with the family. During the winter, there is an abundance of skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and much more cold weather fun. Shopping is another popular past time in the Adirondacks, and don’t forget that the area is also wonderful for couples looking for something more romantic.

Scrumptous Alfajores cookies, one bite isn’t enough

I’m getting hungry just thinking about all this incredible food. I could really go for a big warm plate of lomo saltado with some juicy beef tenderloin, onions, tomatoes and lots of those crazy-hot peppers. I’ll have to swing by for some take-out or see if I can get my husband to try something new for a change. I know he’d love the lomo saltado as much as I do. Maybe I can grab a few alfajores cookies for the ride home. I tried to make my own alfajores once. Just once! I got to the part with the dulche leche and gave up! Looking forward to enjoying some authentic alfajores with some Peruvian coffee, of course.

More money for your travels

meetings and incentive travel will be a breeze for planners, they will find it easy to capitalize on the more tangible financial attractions of modern-day Mexico, namely its location as a Latin American gateway, affordable resources, and increasingly competitive open market conditions. The mere mention of Mexico means business and opportunities and it has become a synonym for success in the global economy.

There’s an added bonus: Mexico’s status as a favored tax country much like Canada’s allows for even greater value for your meeting dollar. Big, bold, beautiful and right next door, Mexico is just what planners are looking for in a travel reward destination. If location means everything, then this is it: a shared border with the American southwest and major international airports in the hottest destinations mean travel is not only short, but comfortable and hassle-free.
