Broadband Communication
There are varying forms of broadband communication that enable one to connect to the Internet. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is a type of broadband communication that transmits information over existing telephone lines versus modem lines. This requires a special ADSL modem and and a microfilter that allows these signals and services to be used simultaneously with telephone services. Consumers must physically be in close proximity to the main office of the provider in order to be able to receive the ADSL signals. One needs to weigh these factors against cost considerations when deciding which Internet Service Provider to utilize for personal or business usage.
